Vata is the element of Ether, and air (wind) energy. Vata is the energy of movement and the force ruling all biological activity. Air “wind” describes “which moves things” throughout the body.
Vata’s traits are dry, rough, light, cold, subtle, + mobile.

Pitta’s Traits are oily, sharp, hot, light, moving, liquid, + acidic.
Pitta also psychologically gives the body heat and energy via breakdown of complex food molecules. Purra rules all mechanisms to do with transformation and conversion throughout the psyche and body.
