💗PART 2 of Ayurveda and Winter Food💗
General Guidelines: 🍽🍴🍛🍜🍶
- Favour balancing the 6 tastes, and eat warm, cooked, well spiced + slightly oily foods.
- Favour heating and hearty vegetables like: cooked onions, spinach, carrots + other root vegetables. 🥕
- Hot spices like: black pepper, chili peppers, cayenne, garlic, and ginger.
- Cooked Grains like: barley, cornmeal, tapioca, rice, kitchari, oatmeal.🍜🍵
- Well cooked and spiced legumes are good for Kapha. Top it off with a little bit of ghee to not disturb Vata.
- Winter is a great time to indulge in meats (if you eat meat) like venison, turkey, and chicken. Also, poached and hard boiled eggs are good. 🥚🍗🥩
- Dairy products should be limited for this time of year, but if you drink a cup of hot milk, add a pinch if turmeric, nutmeg, and dried ginger to your hot milk. Sooo good.☕
