💙 Ayurveda is a wonderful ancient healing system that dates back 9,000 years originating in India. It is the world’s first medical system. Ayurveda, means the science of life. People often ask me if Ayurveda is a religion, if you only have to eat Indian food, or if Ayurveda is science based. (And many more questions….) I will touch base on these questions and topics to help demystify this ancient healing system.
💙 Ayurveda is a way of life, it is a lifestyle that embodies all aspects of healing the mind, body, soul. Spiritual, emotional, and physical health. Think about it, in our fast paced, capitalist society we are driven by “quick fixes.” In medicine, I see this all the time with clients coming to see me, they ask me, “Do you have a pill to fix my anxiety, or constipation etc…” Ayurveda encompasses the whole of life and correlates the life of an individual to the life of the cosmos. Ayurveda is not a passive form of healing therapy but guides people to take responsibility for their own daily way of life. How? (Will elaborate more on the HOW part…..Conscious action in our daily life with our relationships, family, friends, communities, our jobs, our diet, etc… Ayurveda teaches us that we need to be conscious of our actions daily in order to start the healing process.
💙 Moreover, everything we absorb on a daily basis will also determine our health. What we watch, consume through our eyes (iPhone, tv), what we do for a living, what people we surround ourselves with, what we eat, how we prepare food, etc…
💙 So, as you can see Ayurveda is a way of life, to help people empower themselves to achieve their optimal potential.
💗🙏🏽 Thank you.
