STRENGTHENING DIGESTIVE FIRE! Part 1
In Ayurvedic medicine your health is based on strong immunity, which is a product of good digestion, and strong agni which means metabolic fire. Although there are other components, my focus first is to touch base on the root cause of many illnesses which starts in the gut according to Ayurvedic texts. I am excited to share a list of Ayurvedic herbs which help with balancing digestion.
6 years ago I was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis. I was sensitive to a lot of foods in the beginning, and found out it had a lot to do with my digestive health, and build up of toxicity in my body. I will share with you below one of the herbs that has helped with my digestive fire.
Slippery Elm: Commonly used in Ayurvedic medicine. It is known to reduce inflammation of the intestinal tract. Slippery Elm soothes inflamed mucous membranes of the bowel and intestines and neutralizes excess stomach acids, making it a great remedy for the digestive system. Eases constipation and chronic diarrhea. It is known to treat a variety of ailments such as: colitis, IBS, and Crohn’s.
