Anise Star Essential Oil (15 ml) amber glass bottle – “Illicium Verum”
Anise Star essential oil has a liquorice, warm aroma. Pungent, spicy, and sweet. This variety is especially similar in smell to black liquorice!
Ayurvedic Use:
- May help with flus, and chills. May help with muscle aches, fatigue, and fever.
- Can be used as an Anti-spasmodic. Relaxant properties may calm down contractions.
- May be used as a digestive agent in Ayurveda.
- Ayurveda states that it may reduce mucus accumulation, owing to presence of Kapha dosha in the intestines.
- Kapha dosha consists of the elements Earth and Water, and is characterized by a cold character, and slow movements. People with this type of constitution are prone to colds, and respiratory issues, and therefore the right oils for them are: warming, stimulating oils like star anise. Can have a warming effect on the body, that may assist the circulatory and respiratory systems.
Star Anise is a Top Note:
- Top notes are uplifting and refreshing. Top notes evaporate the quickest, 30 minutes.
Combines well with:
- Spicy oils like, thyme. Florals like, lavender, and rose; and citrus scents including orange, lemon, grapefruit. Clove, cinnamon, and peppermint.
How to Use:
- Diffuser, put 5 drops
- Make your own homemade mouthwash and add star anise to freshen your breath.
- Add to your foot, or bath, for a warming analgesic effect.
