January 5, 2023

Let’s start off the New Year right and go through some of the Ayurvedic tips to incorporate for the New Year. Please read last post!

2.) Try and encourage good eating habits, and strong digestion by following the basic tips to incorporate at home:

Leave time in between meals to fully digest your food, leave 4-6 hours between meals.

Eat dinner early, do not eat after 6 or 7 pm at the latest. Body is working to burn off toxins after 10 pm.

Make sure lunch is the largest meal of the day. Eat at regular times daily. Digestive strength is connected to the solar cycle.

Sip small amounts of CCF tea (cumin, coriander, fennel), during meals, produces necessary enzymes to aid with digestion.

Eat a diet of light, simple, easily digestible, sattvic foods, helps calm nervous system.

Eat when you are hungry, and be fully present when eating. Follow a consistent daily routine. There is a connection between food, mood and digestion.

Follow an appropriate exercise routine, depends on our prakriti (constitution) and vikriti (current state of balance).

Avoid cold drinks, and drinking too much fluids during or after food can inhibit digestion.

Kindle agni before and after eating. Use appropriate herbs as per your constitution, and current state of imbalance.

Cleanse the body. Cleanse gives the physiology a chance to detox, repair, and regenerate the tissues, while supporting agni throughout the body. This helps honour the body’s natural intelligence.
