🌿What is Ayurveda? – PART 1🌿
💓 Ayurvedic Medicine dates back 9,000 years in India. It is the world’s first healing system recorded. This ancient system of healing has been improving many lives around the world! Ayurveda is derived from the Sanskrit word ayus, and veda. Ayus means “Life,” Veda means “science.” Thus, means the science of life.
💓 By 3rd century BC, Ayurveda included 8 categories of medicine: Psychiatry, Eye-Ear-Nose, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Aphrodisiacs, Rejuvenation, Paediatrics-Obstetrics,-Gynaecology, Toxicology.
💓 This ancient system spread across the world to China, Egypt, Rome, Afghanistan, Greece, Tibet, and Persia. Moreover, students travelled to study at Ayurvedic schools via the silk road trading routes.
🌿 Ayurvedic medicine was suppressed in India during the British colonial rule. India gained independence in 1947, in which India had a re awakening of traditional Vedic culture.
🌿 Today, Ayurveda is recognized as the oldest healing system, which incorporates a whole body healing approach.
